I have an interview this week! I received an e-mail from a very well known upscale New York City fitness center last week. When I completed my personal training I signed up to be on “the list” for lack of a better term. It’s a list of recent graduates shared with potential employers. Imagine my surprise! It was a wonderful surprise! I mean, who wouldn’t want to work there? The name alone! It’s a dream job for any personal trainer.
But….I’m not any personal trainer. I’m fifty five years old and then there’s the pesky multiple sclerosis diagnosis. Part of me says, I can do this. I’m a BEAST. I’m stronger now than I was ten years ago. The other part of me says, who am I kidding! I’m nowhere near ready for this. It’s easy to be a beast when you’re working for yourself or on your own goals, on your own time. These are the best beasts in the business!
It’s in Manhattan and I would love to go back to work in Manhattan.
I’ve decided not to worry about all of the things I think I can’t do OR the logistics. I’m taking it a day at a time, going with the flow and whatever is meant to be will be. It got me this far, not worrying about tomorrow (sometimes to an extreme, lol) and believing in myself each day. I went many years not believing in myself and worrying about tomorrow. It never got me a job.
Just getting to this point is truly a dream come true for me. Just walking into the gym every day, lifting weights, and getting stronger is a dream come true for me.
Thank you for letting me share my dream with you.
Never stop believing in your dreams.
